ANNOUNCE THE

2012 TED GREEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

  

ELIGIBILITY:

The scholarship competition is open to high school seniors and recent high school graduates who will not have completed more than one year of college by September of 2012  

• An applicant must not have graduated from high school before 2011,

• An applicant must be a child of a uniformed member of the New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association.

• Members of the Executive Board or employees of the New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association or their children are not eligible.  

ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS:  

Scholarship winners will be announced at the 74^th Annual Convention of the NYSPFFA, Corning, New York to be held from July 9^th through July 12^th, 2012. 

AWARDS: 

Awards are made when the recipient has registered at an accredited undergraduate college as a full time student or any school furthering education beyond high school.  

AMOUNT:  

An award of $1,000 is given to the students selected. 

COLLEGE ENTRANCE EXAMS:

Applicants will be required to take the SAT or ACT test. Students must have taken this examination no later than January of 2012.  

ESSAY OF APPROXIMATELY 400-500 WORDS INDICATING WHY YOU SHOULD BE THE RECIPIENT OF THE AWARD.
