Additional dates for FEMA webinars

Apr 8, 2020 | nyspffa_news

Anyone interested in FEMA Public Assistance funding for emergency protective measures taken in response to Coronavirus, please note that the NYS Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services has updated its webinar schedule to include additional dates and times.  To be clear, the below webinars are run by NYS DHSES, as opposed to FEMA itself (which is simultaneously running its own separate webinars about the same Public Assistance program).

As a reminder, eligibility for this FEMA funding is open to State, Tribal, and local governments (including counties, cities, school districts, local gov’t agencies, special districts, and other public entities), as well as to non-profit organizations that own or operate a facility at which certain services are provided, including education, emergency medical care, long-term care, outpatient treatment, rehabilitation centers, fire & rescue emergency services, telecommunications, electric power generation, water treatment, and similar utilities.  If your client fits this description and has incurred expenses due to the Coronavirus pandemic (aside from their usual business costs), then they may be eligible for this funding and should consider joining a webinar session.  Reimbursable expenses include (but are not limited to) disinfecting facilities, temporary medical facilities, enhanced hospital capacity, use of specialized equipment, non-deferrable medical treatment of infected persons in a temporary medical facility or shelter, purchase of food/water/medicine/PPE/other supplies, security and law enforcement, communications to the public regarding health and safety, overtime labor costs, temporary labor hired, and other costs directly relating to the Coronavirus pandemic.  The management/consultant costs associated with assembling a FEMA funding application may likewise be reimbursable, if ultimately approved.  In order to be reimbursed, purchases must comply with any applicable federal, State, and local laws – on this front, please note that many of the procurement requirements that typically apply have been modified or waived during the Coronavirus pandemic.

FEMA Public Assistance Briefings | New Dates Added
