Per the IAFF Website.
As an update on hotel availability for the 2018 IAFF Convention, our room blocks at both the Westin and Sheraton are full – but additional rooms are now available through our Convention Travel & Lodging link.
A number of those who reserved rooms at the Westin (which had a technical error that allowed the hotel to overbook) have been moved to the Sheraton. Those who were moved have been notified and their new accommodations are confirmed. If you have a reservation at the Westin and weren’t notified of a change, then you weren’t moved.
For reference, the Sheraton is only one block from the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC), where the Convention is being held. The Westin, which is four blocks from the WSCC, is dubbed the host hotel because it is where the Executive Board is staying and will meet the week before.
The additional rooms now available through our Convention Travel & Lodging link are at the Renaissance Seattle Hotel ($279/night) and the Crowne Plaza Seattle Downtown ($289/night), which have made a limited number of rooms available to our delegates at the rates noted. Both hotels are within the stipulated four-block radius of the Convention Center.
It’s important to keep in mind that these rooms are over and above the 1,500 room block we contracted for per Convention policy, and once they are gone, delegates will have to find their own accommodations, as they have for all past conventions.
