Dear Members,
We wanted to inform you that we had a productive meeting with the State Comptroller yesterday.
We are pleased to inform you that money we have been lobbying for with the Governor, Senate and Assembly to increase staffing in the comptrollers office has been included in the Governors proposed budget. We have been supportive of this increased funding to reduce the amount of time it takes to process normal and disability retirement applications and other functions performed by the state comptroller office.
We promised the Comptroller we will continue to lobby in favor of this measure and as always we will let you know as things develop.
