It is NOT too late to register for the upcoming IAFF Redmond/EMS Conference. Below in this email are just some of the classes and workshops that are available. It is important to understand and remember to get informed about how the implementation of the Affordable Care Act will affect your department and the town you live and work in. Those departments with EMS first responder designation are always better situated to avoid or minimize budget cuts to their departments. We can, and should, always emphasize the uniqueness of our firehouses location that promote the quickest and most efficient response to medical emergencies.
Those who do not currently have EMS capabilities can benefit from many of these classes that are being put on and that could end up saving firefighters jobs and livelihoods. The information in these workshops can assist you in broaching the subject in an intelligent way that makes sense for your members and the communities they serve.
Please take the time to take a look and see if any of these workshops might benefit you and your members. More information, and additional workshops and classes can be found on the IAFF web site. Thank you for taking the time to familiarize yourself with these workshops. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. I hope to see you there!
