It is with our deepest regrets and sorrows to report the death of Brother Captain John Nicol. John was the VP Local 28 and a 23 year veteran of the Schenectady Fire Department.
John, 47, died from injuries sustained from an ATV accident in Lewis County on Monday August 12th.
Captain Nicol leaves behind a son and an ex-wife.
Calling hours for Captain Nicol will be Friday, 8/16/13, starting at 17:00.
There will be a prayer service at 19:00. Calling hours will be finished at 20:00.
The wake will be held at St John the Evangelist Church located at 816 Union St in Schenectady.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, 8/17/13, at 10:00, and will also be at St John the Evangelist.
There will be a coalition after the service has concluded, from 1200 hours to 1500 hours. Location is to be River Stone Manor at 1437 Amsterdam Rd Glenville, NY 12302.
Additional parking is available next to Union graduate school on the corner of Nott Terrace and Liberty St
On Saturday , for the Funeral, Schenectady Firefighters will be lining up at 9:00 AM in class A uniforms all Firefighters attending the service are invited to line up with Schenectady FD.
