Members from the NYSPFFA gathered in Batavia and Kingston for a 2 day presentation by IAFF Peer support educators. Members are being given intense training and the tools and resources needed to be able to help there fellow firefighters back in their home cities if ever required. We appreciate them stepping up to help the brothers and sisters of our association. Peer support is based on the premise that members are more open to talk to another firefighter about any mental fatigue caused by our profession then someone outside of our profession. NYSPFFA funded the class from a NYS grant and the class was hosted by Local 896 - Batavia and Local 461 - Kingston.
