The Peekskill Professional Firefighters Local 2343 announced today the line of duty passing of Kevin Bristol, age 48. Bristol responded to a fire call the morning of March 3, fell ill following his shift, and passed away later that day while at home.
Bristol was a second generation City of Peekskill Professional Firefighter with 26 years on the job and was a past union president.
"Kevin was a great firefighter, but most of all a great man and a loving husband. Words cannot express how much we will all miss him,” said Gary Horne, President Peekskill Professional Firefighters Local 2343.
Memorial Donations can be made to the charity of choice.
Visiting and burial details are as follows (Updated on 3/5):
- Visiting is Wednesday, March 5th from 1:00 – 7:00 pm, Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home (414 Washington Street in Peekskill.
- Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 6th at 10:00 am at Assumption Church located at 131 Union Ave in Peekskill followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery.
Parking & Transportation:
Wednesday 3/5/14
- Parking at Peekskill Riverfront Green/Metro North Station ONLY (either side of tracks). Please do NOT park at Nardones Funeral Home or anywhere along Washington St.
- Shuttles will begin at 12:30pm and run until 8:00pm. Pick-up and drop-off will be in front of the train station on Railroad Ave.
Thursday 3/6/14
- Parking at Peekskill Riverfront Green/Metro North Station ONLY. Please do NOT park at Nardones Funeral Home or Assumption Church . Additional parking is available in the James St Parking Ramp located at James/Park St (Height Restricted).
- Parking for the cemetery will be at the Hollowbrook Golf Club (across from Assumption Cemetery) on Oregon Road in Cortland Manor.
- Shuttles will run from 8:30am-5:00pm from Riverfront to Elks Lodge & back. Elks Lodge will be open at 8:30am and is located at1038 Brown St.
